We finally got this installed in a new pocket door. It looks great, but on the advice of several people, we installed a solid core wood pocket door (instead of hollow) 'cause supposedly the solid door works better for pocket door. But I'm finding it a little difficult to pull the heavier wood door open by the protruding "tube." Hurts my aging fingers. Also, a deeper well on the inside/outside of door would make it easier to open--there's not much to hold onto. The lock mechanism is a little stiff, but contractor promised this would loosen up in time. We put soft close & open ball-bearing mechanism on the pocket door frame, so the glide is quite easy once it gets going. we will probably add a hook type opener to help open the door.
